			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When the idea for Community Technical Outreach first came up amongst a group of local technology professionals, it was as if I was saying what everyone else in the room had already been thinking. Â They all had a similar desire to get out into the community and make a difference, too. Â I felt like all we really needed was coordination and organization.</p>
<p>What everyone instantly understood was the frustration of having all one&#8217;s hard work, experience, and education focusedÂ solelyÂ on personal gain.Â   The frustration is especially acute because we live in a world where our children leave school without the skills they need to compete, where our communities don&#8217;t reach their potential, and where people are sick, hungry, and homeless. Â We all understood the feeling of powerlessness inculcated by our daily routines of meetings, software, and spreadsheets.</p>
<p>From this, Community Technical Outreach was born. Â We believe that those same things that bring value to the shareholders can bring value to the community, too. Â How?Â   By offering that same experience and education to the non-profit community in our area. Â We may not be able to cure the sick, house the homeless, draft legal agreements, or be daytime teachers, but we <span style="font-style: italic">can</span> help.  We <span style="font-style: italic">can</span> improve an operation&#8217;s IT infrastructure to make operations more efficient and let dollars stretch farther.  We <span style="font-style: italic">can</span> protect organizations by reviewing technical contracts and specifications.  We <span style="font-style: italic">can</span> bring our enthusiasm for technology after school to the future problem solvers of our community.</p>
<p>You can be a part of it.  We <span style="font-style: italic">can</span> make a difference!</p>
